CONGRESS TRANSPORT

The congress will provide complimentary transport to the Congress Gala Dinner on 1 August 2013 for congress delegates. Further information will be provided closer to the time. All other transport is for delegates’ own arrangement.

 

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

All airport transfers are for delegates own arrangements.  Please contact one of the following transfer companies to arrange your transport.  Please stipulate that you are attending the SATS 2013 congress when making a reservation. 

Airport Bus Transport
Airport Bus Transport is a shuttle transfer company that runs from King Shaka International Airport to the various hotels in the city of Durban.  The shuttle departs approximately every 30 min from outside King Shaka International Airport International Arrivals at Public Transport Parking.  This shuttle service operates from 05h00 to 22h00 Monday to Sunday.  Bookings need to be made for return transfers only.

Airport Express
Airport Express is an established, full service, transfer, day tour & transport logistics company.  Airport transfers can be arranged according to your personalised flight details by prior arrangement.  Costs depend on the number of people being transferred.

VISA INFORMATION

PASSPORTS AND VISAS
Every visitor to South Africa must have a valid passport. Passport holders from more than 80 countries, including USA, Canada, UK, Japan and the EU can visit South Africa without a visa. Information regarding visas can be obtained from your travel agent or the South African diplomatic or consular representative in your area. Passports should have at least 2 completely empty pages otherwise entry may be denied. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your intended date of departure. Delegates requiring visas, and who intend taking tours to neighbouring Southern African countries, are advised to secure a multiple entry visa. Tourists must satisfy immigration officers that they have the means of support for the duration of their stay in the country and return /onward tickets. Visas cannot be obtained on arrival. A list of countries that currently do not require a visa can be found at the SA Government website.

 

TRAVELLING TO DURBAN/SOUTH AFRICA

GETTING TO DURBAN BY AEROPLANE
Most international airlines arrive at the Oliver Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) in Johannesburg. A few international airlines fly directly to Durban’s King Shaka International Airport, but otherwise Durban could easily be reached with a one hour domestic flight from Johannesburg’s ORTIA.

GETTING TO DURBAN BY ROAD
Durban can easily be reached from Johannesburg by travelling on the N3 highway. The distance is 598km.
