Invited Faculty - Paul Morrissey

Paul Morrissey, MD, is Associate Professor of Transplant and General Surgery, and Director, Division of Organ Transplantation at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Prof Morrissey received his medical training at University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed his internship and residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Under the direction of Anthony Monaco, MD and Roger Jenkins, MD, he completed an ASTS-approved fellowship in abdominal organ transplantation at Beth-Israel-Deaconess Medical Centre, Harvard Medical School, prior to joining the faculty at Brown. 

Prof Morrissey is Assistant Medical Director of the New England Organ Bank. He is also a reviewer for Transplantation and an ad hoc reviewer for the American Journal of Transplantation. He has served on several UNOS Committees including the Board of Trustees. 

Prof Morrissey’s primary research interests are in clinical kidney transplantation and organ donation. Currently, he is working on clinical and ethical issues surrounding end-of-life care as relates to organ donation and is participating in an NIH-sponsored longitudinal study of living donor outcomes.
